Q: What is the Monk Seal Foundation?
A: The Monk Seal Foundation is a Maui based non profit dedicated to the preservation of the critically endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. We actively work with volunteers, government agencies, and other non-profits to both protect the monk seals and to engage and educate the public. Our goal is clear, to preserve the monk seals for current and future generations to come.
Q: Are my donations tax deductible?
A: The Monk Seal Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, so your donation is deductible to the extent allowed by law. Contributions to a charitable organization are generally deductible by individuals who itemize their deductions. Please consult with your accountant or tax adviser regarding specific tax related questions. We will provide you an acknowledgement confirming the amount and date of donation that will serve as a receipt.
Q: How can I make a donation?
A: You can donate quickly and securely through our online Paypal donation page. You don't need a Paypal account to donate. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover are accepted.

Q: What should I do if I see a Hawaiian Monk Seal?
A: There is also a statewide network of dedicated response teams which actively work to protect monk seals which have hauled out on beaches and rocks. The best thing you can do is to leave the seal undisturbed and call the appropriate seal sighting hotline:
